A Common Mission

Historically, a large percentage of international adoptions from South Korea have involved the children of unwed single mothers. Because of this structural connection, Korean adoptee-led advocacy groups work closely with KUMFA to promote policies supporting family preservation.

By uniting voices, adoptee networks and unwed mothers' organizations lobby the Korean government for stronger social safety nets, ensuring that financial vulnerability is never the primary driver of family separation.

Key Partner Networks

KUMFA maintains relationships and works alongside critical Korean and international adoptee coalitions, including:

• TRACK (Truth and Alliance of Korean Adoptees)
• ASK (Adoptee Solidarity Korea)
• KoRoot (Adoptee Advocacy & Guesthouse Support)

Together, these partnerships led the historic campaign to successfully pass vital revisions to the Special Adoption Law in 2011, bringing local domestic practices up to international standards.
